Nau mai, haere mai.
The Ōtaki-Māori Racing Club is now the only Māori racing club in New Zealand, and possibly one of a few truly indigenous horse racing clubs in the world.
The club has enjoyed a long, colourful and successful history since its establishment in 1886. To learn more about our historic club, click here.
Throughout the last couple of years, a mixture of wet weather and ongoing drainage issues has resulted in a lot of surface flooding and numerous transfers or cancellations of meetings.
We are proud to announce now that, following an extensive track repair project, we are back in action. Check out or Meeting Schedule for upcoming races days.
We're back in action.
Taking the reins.
From 2007 to 2017, our Club was managed by a third party. In mid-2017, the Committee decided to move this back in-house.
We are now back in control of our destiny as a Club and have initiated a number of non-raceday projects to ensure a long and bright future.
You don't have to be a racing-enthusiast to enjoy races at our beautiful course. We also offer kids entertainment, top-notch food carts, music, and much more!
So bring the kids and grandparents along for a great day out, all throughout the year.
