We welcome new members, especially those with new ideas, energy and vision.
Members of the club shall consist of:
Life Members – validly elected and qualified as Life Members.
Ordinary Members – all descendants of Ngati Raukawa, Ngati Toa, and Te Ati Awa and elected as members of the club, and who pay an annual subscription.
Ordinary members shall be eligible to hold any office in the club.
Associate Members – all other persons who are validly elected members of the club who pay an annual subscription.
Associate members are entitled to the same privileges of admission to the course and stands on race days as ordinary members.
Associate members are not eligible to hold any office in the club or to attend or take part in any meetings of members or generally to vote or take part in the management of the club or its affairs.
‘Maori Members’ – that is, Maori other than descendants of the ‘three founding tribes’. This is a new membership category, and aimed at allowing NZ Maori the opportunity to support this Maori racing club. For many it will be a nominal membership only, and has limitations, namely: “ineligibility to hold any office of the club or to attend or take part in any meetings of members, or generally to vote or take part in management of the club or its affairs”. Annual subscription is $10. To attend race meetings and enjoy the privileges of ‘Associate Members’ there must be a top up subscription fee, by $30, to $40 currently per annum.
Membership
Annual subscriptions are due and payable on the 1st day of August each year. The cost of one year’s subscription is a very affordable $40.00 – membership applications can be downloaded as a PDF here.
Please note: As Otaki-Maori Racing Club is now a part of RACE, additional membership benefits apply to Otaki-Maori Racing Club ‘ordinary’ and ‘associate’ members.
RACE Country Membership – this is covered by the normal annual $40 subscription, and incorporates club membership for Otaki-Maori, Marton, Feilding, and Rangitikei Clubs. Includes guest ticket.
RACE Full Membership – by upgrading this membership to $100 annual subscription, incorporates club membership and reciprocal rights for all race days at Otaki-Maori, Manawatu, Marton, Feilding, Rangitikei, and Wellington clubs - but excludes Wellington Cup Day. Includes reciprocal rights for all major NZ racing clubs. Includes guest ticket. Not available to Wellington club members.
RACE PREMIER Membership – by upgrading this membership to $175 annual subscription, incorporates club membership and reciprocal rights for all race days at Otaki-Maori, Manawatu, Marton, Feilding, Rangitikei, and Wellington clubs - and includes Wellington Cup Day. Includes reciprocal rights for all major NZ racing clubs. Includes guest ticket. Not available to Wellington club members.
Benefits of becoming a member of the Otaki-Maori Racing Club
Members of the club shall, on presentation of their current Member’s Ticket (issued on payment of subscription), be entitled to free access to all parts of the course and stands other than areas reserved by the Stewards for any particular purpose.
Each member shall be entitled to one Member’s Guest Ticket, which carries the same privileges.
Member’s Breakfast, normally offered on the morning of the last of the season’s race meetings.
Central Region clubs will generally grant complimentary admittance to their Member’s Stand on presentation of your Otaki-Maori Racing Club Member’s Ticket. Course entry fees may still be payable at the gate.
As well as enjoying nine Otaki-Maori Racing Club race meetings annually, participate in Levin Racing Club’s four race days per year, which are held at Otaki Racecourse.
